Biography |
|
Sharrond King is a independent Gospel singer/songwriter, who uses her anointed voice to spread the message of God to the world. "Feelin' Free" on the Tru-Vine Records label -- is her latest CD release since her 2004 Billboard charting "Dedicated" project, which remained on Billboard for 30 plus weeks and peeked at #9 on the Gospel Charts. "Feelin' Free" has anointed vocals, inspiring lyrics, rhythmatic praises, superb instrumentals and exuberating beats that will lift one's spirits and leave one feeling truly liberated in Christ Jesus. The single “I’ll Go” from the Feelin’ Free CD was #1 on Gospel USA Magazine’s top 30 Independent Releases. Sharrond has also received several awards including Arkansas Gospel Heritage Awards Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year (Lovin’ Him), and EnSound Music Awards Inspirational Song of the Year (I’ll Go). King began singing solos at the age of three (per her aunt) and by the age four little Sharrond became a member of her family gospel group called the Evening Stars. Sharrond received Christ as her savior at an early age and although she did not exactly know her purpose at that time, she knew it would probably have something to do with music. |

After the relocation of several of her Evening Star group members, she continued singing as a soloist at various venues through out her youth. As a young adult she began writing songs, and became a member of a gospel group called “Encouraged” of Paducah, Kentucky. Encouraged has opened for the Mississippi Mass Choir and The Tommy L. Jones, Jr. Workshop, of Louisville, Kentucky. She traveled and ministered with Encouraged throughout Central U. S. In the Year 2000, Sharrond and her husband, Ross, established an independent record label, called Tru-Vine Records, Inc. and released her first professional recording titled “Inspiration.” “Inspiration” was classified as a regional release. However, the album received national recognition through radio airplay at various radio stations across the country. This release opened many doors for Sharrond and has since allowed her to share her ministry on stage with other gospel recording artists such as: Shirley Caesar, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Tye Tribbett & G. A. Eddie Ruth Bradford and Greg O’Quin -N- Joyful Noyze. She was recognized as one of the new breakout artist of the East by Gospel Industry Round-Up 2005 . She has been featured in the Ende Magazine, the Gospel Truth Magazine and Gospel EUR (Electronic Urban Report), and was a special musical guest for the 8th Annual Arkansas Black Hall of Fame. She has traveled near and far sharing her ministry through live performances, as well as interviews for radio, television and print media. Her goal is to continue to fulfill God’s purpose for her life, by spreading His message through song, and always lift up the mighty name of Jesus Christ! |
